Throughout Lower Trowan Cottage you’ll find lovely touches, great quality furniture and a laid back feel.
Outside you have a lawn, seating, parking in a communal car park and stunning views over the fields to the sea beyond.
As you enter Lower Trowan you’ll be greeted by the open plan living space with a cosy lounge area surrounding a wood burner, a beautiful kitchen with fitted appliances and a dining table for four.
Adjacent is a modern conservatory with seating and TV.
Head down the hallway and you’ll find the bedrooms and bathroom. The master bedroom has a king size bed and plenty of storage. The second bedroom is a twin – perfect for children!
The bathroom has a large shower enclosure, toilet and basin.
Outside is a seating area and a lawn with furniture and a BBQ in the summer months.
Lower Trowan is dog friendly for an additional fee.
Please note parking is in a communal car park a 100m walk away, unloading outside is possible.

We use a self service check-in to give you flexibility when arriving, we might swing by to check everything is ok during your stay but we like to respect your privacy to.
Trowan itself is a peaceful hamlet located about 1.5 miles from the centre of St Ives. Surrounded by green fields, wild moors and the rugged coastline of this superb stretch in West Cornwall.
St Ives itself is a little hub of activity and creativity. You’ll find golden beaches, oodles of galleries and restaurants, a host of independent shops and plenty of friendly folk.
One of your nearest pubs is The Halsetown Inn, a great place for an evening meal or drink. Head a little further down the coast road and you’ll find the pretty village of Zennor and the magical Tinner’s Arms, a very old pub with lots of character.
We’d recommend a car if you are staying at Lower Trowan as there aren’t many amenities in easy walking distance. You will find public transport is pretty good in St Ives itself.
You could walk to St Ives and/or Porthmeor beach, it’s about a 1.5 mile walk, or a 5 minute drive.

The rural location of the property means mobile signal is patchy, there is no mains water but the hamlet is supplied by a bore hole and private drainage.

This was a last minute booking and wasn’t expecting much, but turned out to be one of the best AirBnB stays for us. Apart from being great location and stunning views, the place was peaceful and private yet within 10 mins driving distance from everything, beaches to restaurants to grocery stores. This place covered everything what you desire in any ideal holiday accommodation but what took it to next level for us was the digital instruction manual which had everything covered from before you arrive to departure but it also had in depth review list of places of interests which included restaurants and places to visit with Google maps attached to each along with link to their website and small review, each of our 5 days stay we visited most of the restaurants and places to visit from this list and each one turned out to be great place to eat or visit. I would highly recommend Sam as host and this place to stay and enjoy everything that is stunning about St Ives and Cornwall.
Great stay in a fabulous location, the cottage was well equipped and very clean and tidy. Only points I have is the main photo on the site looks as if it’s one cottage where it is actually two separate properties. The garden is enclosed however there is a very small wall separating the two properties which my dog could easily get into so it was not ideal for her to roam freely. Overall it was a great stay which the family enjoyed.

Had a fantastic stay at Sam's place. What a gorgeous cottage and an even more fantastic location. We loved every minute of it. Sam was also very accommodating and a very friendly person. We decided we will only be staying at his when we go back to Cornwall.

We had a brilliant stay at Lower Trowan Cottage, we especially loved the beautiful conservatory and the easy access to the coast path and lots of other lovely walks around.
I have no hesitation recommending both this property and Sam as an incredible host (one of the very best on AirBnb). Sam was brilliant and the home was perfect for our family visit. Thank you for having us as your guest and we will look forward to returning again soon 🙂
St Ives
St Ives has a way of pulling you in — not just for the sea and the light, but for the feeling. The beaches are golden, the harbour hums with life, and around every corner there’s something quietly special: a tucked-away bakery, a gallery you didn’t mean to find, a lane that leads somewhere worth pausing. It’s busy in summer, sure — but come in the shoulder months and you’ll see it slow down, breathe, open up.
