Surrounded by open countryside, coastal walking routes, and classic West Cornwall scenery, this dog-friendly holiday cottage near St Ives is ideal for families, couples, and anyone looking for a slower-paced Cornish getaway.
A no-through country lane leads you in, and from there it’s all fields, stillness and sky. The South West Coast Path is just a short walk away, opening up clifftop walks straight from the doorstep. Head one way and you can wander towards hidden coves and wild stretches of coastline, or take a longer stroll into St Ives along the coast when the tide and mood align. If you’re out and about by car, you’re only a short drive from town.

Inside, the cottage feels instantly homely. The kitchen and dining space is set up for easy meals and slow mornings, while an open archway leads through to the living room where a log burner and deep sofa do most of the work once the day is done.
Upstairs, there’s a calm master bedroom and a twin room, making it an easy fit for couples or families. The bathroom offers both a bath and separate shower, so you can take things at your own pace.
Outside, a private patio catches the fresh air and evening light, with a BBQ and dining area made for simple meals outside and quiet evenings with the door left open.
For larger groups, Rosewall Cottage is located just next door and can be booked alongside Quick’s Cottage, making it a great option for families or friends holidaying together while still enjoying their own space.
Quick’s Cottage is an ideal base for those seeking a slower pace, beautiful scenery and easy access to Cornwall’s coast, a true countryside hideaway with the sea never far away.
Being in a rural area the property has water supplied by a bore and the drainage is private. Extremely rarely (in the event of a mechanical breakdown) you may find the water disrupted. Everyone would of course do their best to rectify the situation asap.

We’re a local holiday host and live in the area but not onsite. We’re here to offer advice, recommendations and help during your stay. We may knock on and say hello if we’re passing but we’re aware this is your time to enjoy.
Trowan is one of our favourite places, it’s a real hidden gem. There is a stark contrast between St Ives and this little hamlet.
Locally you’ll have superb walks right from your doorstep with one of our favourites being to Zennor and a stop at the Tinners Arms.
Head in the other direction along the coast path and you’ll reach St Ives, with the first stop being Porthmeor beach as you had around Man’s Head.
St Ives has oodles to do for everyone of all ages. There is a fantastic art scene, food stops, watersports, and independent shops.
With there being no shops etc on site and public transport not coming to the hamlet we’d strongly recommend coming by car. The access lane to Trowan is single track and narrow in places, we regularly take our mid sized van down here.
A torch may be useful for walking from the car to the property. Mobile signal can be weak here.

Nous avons passé un séjour merveilleux. L’emplacement est magnifique. Le trajet à pied pour aller à St IVes était un plaisir avec des vues à couper le souffle sur la mer. Comptez 35 min à pied mais ça vaut vraiment le coup. Nous l’avons fait tous les jours. Le cottage est charmant. On s’y sent bien, il est très bien équipé. Le seul bémol est que nous avons dû partir car nous avions réservé qu’une seule semaine. Merci c’était une semaine incroyable.
A beautiful cottage set in a tiny hamlet down a narrow lane. The cottage actually feels a lot bigger than the pictures show and it is very well equipped. Lovely open plan downstairs which can be made cosy by lighting the log burner. Some nice additions such as DAB radio, games and books. Plus a pair of vintage floor speakers that are connected to a Bluetooth music player that is easily connected to your phone. The speakers sound beautiful and are a very welcome addition to an already well equipped cottage. It's a great stay if you have a dog as there are some lovely walks straight out of the door. Easy to get into St Ives and you are a 12 minute drive from the harbour front. Can't recommend Quick Cottage enough and it will definitely be our go to place to stay the next time we are in St Ives.
Das Cottage von Sam war perfekt. Wunderschön in einem Cornish Estate eingebettet umgeben von Wiesen und Felder und am Horizont das Meer in der Abendsonne leuchtend. Die Einrichtung war sehr gemütlich und zweckmäßig. Die Betten sind sehr bequem. Bei der Haustechnik hat alles funktioniert. Mit der Sonos Soundanlage konnte schöne Musik gespielt werden. Am Tisch auf dem kleinen Sitzplatz hinter dem Haus konnten wir frühstücken oder die Abenddämmerung mit einem Drink geniessen. Leider hat es keinen direkten Weg zur Küste, oder wir haben ihn nicht gefunden. Ein Pathway führte durch unser Cornish Estate. Dieser Weg führte in der einen Richtung nach Zennor und in der anderen nach St. Ives. Unterwegs nach Zennor konnte man dann rechts auf den wunderschönen South west coast path einbiegen. So war man dann an der Küste. Wir haben den Aufenthalt bei Sam und der ganzen Region sehr genossen und würden jederzeit wieder kommen.

The most lovely place to stay, tranquil is the best way to describe it. The hob was easy to use. Everything you could ask for in an Airbnb.
This was one of my favourite places to stay it felt like home from home. Can’t wait to come back

We had a lovely stay in this beautifully converted and very comfortable granite cottage. It feels very remote and exposed but only about 10 mn drive from St Ives !

St Ives has a way of pulling you in — not just for the sea and the light, but for the feeling. The beaches are golden, the harbour hums with life, and around every corner there’s something quietly special: a tucked-away bakery, a gallery you didn’t mean to find, a lane that leads somewhere worth pausing. It’s busy in summer, sure — but come in the shoulder months and you’ll see it slow down, breathe, open up.
